Building Games for Flourishing

This year, I’m setting out on a journey—a journey to build and share a series of game demos, prototypes, and playful experiments. It’s not just a development challenge or an exercise in creativity (though it’s definitely both of those); it’s part of a bigger idea I care deeply about: games for flourishing.
I believe games can do more than entertain. They can spark joy, foster connection, support well-being, and even promote health. They can help us flourish—not just in the game world, but in the real one. This idea isn’t new, but it’s one I want to explore in my own way: through making.
So, here’s the plan: throughout the year, I’ll be building small games and prototypes. Some will be weird. Some will be cozy. Some might not work. But all of them are part of a conversation—a conversation between me and the games, the games and the players, and me and you.
I’m not trying to make a polished final product (at least not yet). I want to explore what it means to make a game that’s not just fun, but meaningful. A game that feels good to play and good for you to play. To figure that out, I need to build. I need to share. And I need your feedback.
This project sits at the intersection of my work, my art, and my research. I’ve been making games for nearly 20 years now, and I’ve been building in VR/MR for over a decade. I’m currently working with researchers and universities to explore how immersive technology can improve health and well-being—especially through social and emotional engagement. These demos are an extension of that work, but they’re also personal. They’re creative. They’re a little bit experimental, and a little bit hopeful.
If any of this resonates with you, I hope you’ll follow along. Try the demos. Share your thoughts. Be part of the journey.
The first demo is our now, and you can try it here: link
